No, your password won’t be sent to Facebook. You can’t, if you do protection properly. (Here’s the reason for this.)
The official way and the not-so-official way to try are two ways. You should also know that even if you do not use this not-so-official way as it is another possible threat to security.
Facebook’s own account recovery feature is the only legal way to reset your password. You use this information to confirm that you are approved in advance. You might not be able to restore your account without accessing current information. You will see what your browser has been saved if it is configured to remember passwords.
How Do I Recover My Facebook Password?

I must make it clear that you will not be able to recover your current password.
That being said, it would be frighteningly convenient if you let your browser remember the password for you.
My example is Firefox, but most browsers have the same feature.
On the right end of the toolbar, click “hamburger” and then click Options (or Preferences, depending on your version). Check the search box for “password” on the resulting page and press Saving Logins when it appears…
This opens a window that lists all Firefox password pages. Passwords Click Display.
Following a little of paranoia:
A special column — the real password — is available to everyone in the Saved Passwords dialog.

Security issue
If your browser can show you your passwords:

For this purpose, I’m not advised to recall passwords from your browser. Make sure that your computer is safe if you feel you have to.
