Instagram account and the Facebook page – To connect your Instagram account and your Facebook page, you must first be an admin of that page on Facebook.
Connecting any kind of Instagram account (personal or business) and a Facebook page
When you link to an Instagram account and a Facebook page:
- Page administrators, writers, moderators, and advertisers may use Facebook to create Instagram ads and handle feedback on those ads.
- Page administrators, writers, and moderators will read and respond to Instagram comments and Direct Messages from their Facebook Page Inbox.
- Customers’ Instagram contact information can be accessed and managed by page managers, editors, and moderators through the Contacts tab on Facebook.
- Instagram posts will be posted from the site’s Facebook page by site administrators and editors. Someone who has logged into the linked Instagram account will post Instagram posts on a Facebook page.
- Instagram stories can be added to your profile by web managers and editors.
- Connecting a business account to an Instagram and Facebook profile.
When you link your Instagram business account to a Facebook page, you get the following features in addition to the ones mentioned above:
- Page administrators, writers, and anyone logging into the Instagram account will synchronize company contact details such as an email address, phone number, and business address between Facebook and Instagram. Updates to one app will be reflected in the other (for example, Facebook) (example: Instagram). People who visit your website can also suggest improvements to your company’s contact information. When this happens, you will receive an email and a page update asking you to review and accept changes to your contact details. If you allow syncing, your Facebook profile and the Instagram account will both be edited.
- Page managers and writers, as well as anyone signed into the Instagram account, can add a button to Instagram for scheduling appointments.
- If the company is eligible for Instagram Shopping, it can be set up by someone who has access to the connected Instagram account.
- If the page is registered with Facebook’s Charitable Giving Tools, anyone in a position on the page will encourage people to add donation stickers to Instagram Stories.
- Enterprises can integrate third-party applications from a developer.

How to Hide Your Instagram Account from FB
If you have linked your Instagram account to your Facebook account or registered on Instagram using your Facebook account, you can share your photos and videos with your family and friends on Facebook. Since Instagram notifications are available by default, your Facebook friends will immediately know that you are on Instagram if you post something from Instagram on Facebook. Instagram’s privacy settings cannot be changed, but you can make your Instagram posts private on Facebook.
Sign in to your Facebook account, click the gear icon, and then select Account Settings from the menu to access the General Account Settings tab.
Click ‘Apps’ in the navigation pane to see all the applications enabled on your Facebook account. Instagram posts your updates to Facebook via the Instagram app.
To change its settings, click the “Edit” button next to the Instagram app.
Select ‘Only Me’ from the ‘App visibility’ drop-down box to make all Instagram posts private. Only you have access to your private Facebook posts.
To return to your Facebook profile, click the “Close” link and then the Facebook icon.
Tip
You can change the app settings on your iOS or Android computer if you don’t have access to a monitor.
To re-enable Instagram messages, pick “Friends” or “Public” from the “Visibility of app” drop-down box.
Warning
Instagram 5.0.2 makes reference to the information in this article. Procedures can vary slightly or significantly with other versions or products.
