Instagram users can now access their accounts from their computers and read through their feeds.
When you don’t want to use your phone, the photo-sharing network has included a desktop support option that allows you to scroll.
On a desktop, Instagram currently has limited functionalities, with users limited in how much they can post, see, and engage with.
When you’re at work or not using your phone, the app allows you to search for friends, browse your feed, and access your profile from your computer.
You may upload photographs to your Instagram account in a variety of ways.
How to use Instagram on your computer
Visit the Instagram website at https://www.instagram.com/ to log in to your account online.
You’ll be taken to a login page where you can either log in with your Facebook account (if your Instagram and Facebook accounts are linked) or enter your email, mobile number, and password.
Choose how you want to sign in and log out of your account.
You’ll notice that Instagram is slightly smaller than what you’re used to on your phone. You’ll have access to your regular photostream, as well as the ability to search for accounts on your desktop.
There is a workaround that allows you to post photos from your computer. If you’re using a Mac and Safari is your default browser, click Advanced from the Preferences menu.
You may post to Instagram directly from your desktop using Chrome’s hidden mobile mode.’
For personalized ads and content, ad and content measurement, and audience insights, as well as to develop and improve products, we and our partners store and/or access information on a device, such as cookies, and process personal data, such as unique identifiers and standard information sent by a device.
Chrome has a hidden function that allows you to make the browser look like a mobile device.
You can also publish directly to Instagram from your desktop or laptop when you use it to visit the social network.
Normally, you can’t post from Instagram’s desktop site; instead, you can only browse and leave comments.
This useful little side-step, on the other hand, allows you to drag and drop photos from your PC directly into your profile. It’s also a lot easier to add descriptions and hashtags to increase your reach.
This is how you do it:
To begin, sign in to Instagram and then activate Chrome’s developer mode by hitting Ctrl + Shift + I.
Then, either press Ctrl + Shift + M or select the little icon in the upper right corner, near to the options for Elements, Console, and Sources, to activate the mobile mode.
Finally, use your browser’s refresh button and the option to post directly to your profile from Chrome.
As previously stated, you won’t be able to utilize some features of the app, such as filters or multi-image postings, but it does mean you can rapidly upload content from your laptop.
