Is Ini Edo Calabar?
No, Ini Edo doesn’t come from Calabar. The actress was born in Akwa Ibom and is a woman from Ibibio. This kind of misunderstanding is prevalent because many regard the people of Akwa Ibom as Calabar. There was also the reality that, until 1987, Akwa Ibom was part of the old Cross River State. Calabar is the capital of the state of Cross River and people from the state are generally regarded, even when they are not, as Calabar people.
But the people of Akwa Ibom and the people of Calabar are different. One major difference between Akwa Ibom and Calabar is that Ibibio is predominantly spoken by the former, while Efik is spoken later. Ini Edo, therefore, is from Akwa Ibom and not from Calabar.
The superstar actress once said that she never dreamed in the beginning that she would make it big in Nollywood. She just ‘loved acting,’ and the passion had gone ahead of her. Before finally being spotted by a producer, she must have attended several film auditions.

Both Ini Edo and her husband denied any tension within their marriage in 2009. An article was published by Vanguard where the couple was quoted as saying there were no problems in their house.

Pulse published a post alleging that the family of Ini Edo’s ex-husband had alleged that while married to Phillip Ehiagwina, the actress cheated and that her family had to ask them to accept the returned bride price to free her in the future to be able to marry someone else.
But since we can find no concrete proof to support the claims, we regard these allegations as just that. It is not uncommon to share unfaithful tales about famous figures and celebrities. Readers are recommended to take these reports with a healthy dose of skepticism before there is proof that states otherwise.
