The veteran Yoruba actor had a knack for acting as a child, like many prominent stars. In his home church, Christ Apostolic Church, Lafenwa, Abeokuta, he started out by engaging in drama sessions with his childhood friend Tunde.
As time progressed, Tunde, who was a part-time actor at the time, introduced him to a theatre party. The head of the group learned he was a strong actor during his first meeting with the team and he was finally accepted into the family.

Odunlade Adekola was born in Abeokuta, the state capital of Ogun, southwestern Nigeria, on 31 December 1976. He was born to the father of the choirmaster of Christ Apostolic Church, who later became a pastor of the same church. His parents, Pastor Adekola and Deaconess Adekola, were from Otun Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Until going to Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, where he obtained a diploma certificate, he attended St John’s Primary School and St. Peter’s College in Abeokuta, earning the West African School Certificate Examination. He continued his studies and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Lagos in May 2018.
Odunlade had his elementary school education at St John’s Primary Otun Ekiti, while at St. Peter’s College in Abeokuta, where he also sat for his West African School Certificate Examination, his high school education was completed. He proceeded to the renowned Moshood Abiola Polytechnic to further his education upon completion of his studies at St. Peter’s College. At the conclusion of his studies at the institution, he finally obtained a diploma certificate. He also holds a B.A from the University of Lagos in Business Administration.
Adekola is married to Ruth Adekola, who has been called the aliases-Alani Pamolekun, Sunday Dagboru, Mufu Oloosha Oko, Adebayo Aremu Abere-for his various humorous roles in the film industry. The couple reportedly met at a vigil organized by the Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C) in Abeokuta in 1995. After a few months of their meeting, the actor later proposed to her. In the presence of their family members and friends, the two eventually sealed their love in the same year by exchanging marital vows.
As a gatherer, Ruth was born on November 2. She comes from Ekiti State and is said to have attended Abeokuta Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, where her husband graduated from. Four lovely boys were produced by the lovely couple’s marital partnership.
