Ramsey Nouah Net worth and Biography  – In the Nigerian movie industry, more commonly known as Nollywood, Ramsey Nouah could very easily be identified as one of the most familiar faces. He has achieved a feat in which not many actors can boast, sustaining a fruitful career in Nollywood in two different phases.

Ramsey Nouah (b. Ramsey Tokunbo Nouah Jr.; 19 December 1970) is a Nigerian actor and director born to an Israeli father and a Yoruba mother from Owo, Ondo County, in Edo State. He grew up in Surulere, Lagos, where he attended primary school in Atara and grammar school in the community. At the University of Lagos, he earned a degree in mass media, after which he pursued a career in acting. In 2010, he received the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

He got a push from a friend to move into acting, though initially considering a music career when he was 20 years old. He started auditioning for TV shows and won Jeff’s part in the hit TV show Fortunes, which ran from 1993 to 1994, at the first attempt.

Already known as an actor, Ramsey Nouah made his major feature film debut in the heartily-embraced “Silent Night” in 1996, but he had previously worked in a few Nigerian home videos that never made it out because of problems that centered mainly on a lack of adequate funds.

In romantic movies, he then took on various roles and quickly got the enduring “Lover Boy” name by which some fans still refer to him. In 2004, he saw the first of its kind in Nollywood in the movie, “Dangerous Twins,” where one actor was able to play two separate roles. Ramsey Nouah took on the roles of Taiye and Kehinde, both good and poor twins, and he played the roles effectively.

The roles seemed to portray his willingness to transcend beyond the box of the “Lover Boy” picture that he had been easily assigned to the industry at large. Future ventures saw him expand his acting chops to cover numerous genres and he became a household name before long.

No need to look further than the record-breaking Nigerian comedy, 30 days in Atlanta, for Ramsey Nouah’s more recent offerings to the film world, where he partly embraced his lover boy side but showed a terrific bent for comedy in turn. Gbomo Gbomo Express and Thy Will Be Done, both available on irokoTV, are some other recent films that he has starred in.

For his acting and contributions to the Nollywood movie industry at large, Ramsey has received several awards. A more recent one will be his Best Actor win at the 2010 African Movie Academy Awards for his appearance in The Figurine, a Kunle Afolayan film created in 2009, as a socially awkward new graduate.

He is also the founder of Ramseyfilms, the film production company, and has spoken about getting behind the camera sometime in the future to direct.
