The Best Pokemon Go Nicknames – Two new Eevee-lutions were generated when Pokemon Gold and Silver, the second generation of Pokemon games, released in 2000 and brought along a whole new roster of Pokemon, which were not listed in that episode. Brand-new additions to the canon of Pokemon were Espeon, the psychic-type evolution, and Umbreon, the Dark-type evolution. With them, new trends and new tactics of evolution were carried along. You had to level up Eevee to unlock your Espeon after receiving a high-level friendship rating during the day, and you had to do the same at night to build an Umbreon.
The Best Pokemon Go Nicknames – Because in the game itself, Pokemon Go does not have any kind of friendship ability or ranking implementation, Niantec once again had to introduce its own workaround for Eevee to evolve. But with all three of the brothers used by Eevee, they switched to a totally different Pokemon episode to get their names:
- Name your Eevee Sakura, not after the Naruto character of the same name, but from one of the Kimono girls from Pokemon’s Johto episodes, to develop your Eevee into an Espeon. In its second season, Sakura was the main Kimono girl for an episode of Pokemon, and she made her return to Pokemon Chronicles, a limited-series spin-off that illustrated the ongoing adventures of characters Ash had encountered on his journey.
- Name your Eevee Tamao, after one of the other Kimono sisters from the same Sakura episode, to turn your Eevee into an Umbreon.
Lastly, the newest additions to the Eevee family have arrived. We’re excited that we can finally add Leafeon and Glaceon to our Pokedex, with Gen IV Pokemon (those originally featured in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl) finally rolling out during the first half of 2019. Eevee’s evolution into its grass or ice-type developments, however, is a bit more complicated than just using a different nickname.
- Name your Eevee Linnea, after the trainer of the same name who appears in Pokemon Sun and Moon, as well as Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon with a Leafeon, to turn your Eevee into a Leafeon.
- Name your Eevee Rea, after the trainer of the same name who appears in Pokemon Sun and Moon, as well as Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon with a Glaceon, to turn your Eevee into a Glaceon.
