Uche Jombo Biography, Family and Net Worth – Among the few Nigerian Nollywood actresses who have done tremendously well in terms of their creative intensity and enthusiasm is the A-list celebrity of the industry, the actress, actor, and producer, Uche Jombo.

Naturally, her devotion to acting over the years has thrown her into the limelight, putting her on the list of influential TV personalities of our time.

Uche Jombo Biography

In Abiriba, Abia State, Nigeria, Uche Jombo (born December 28, 1979) was born. She graduated from the University of Calabar in Mathematics and Statistics and from the Federal University of Technology Minna in Computer Programming.

 

Life was a tough one for actress Jombo while growing up. She was raised at a very young age by her mother, who enrolled her in their church drama group. And during her high school days, she still won the best student award for drama. In reality, during her years in high school, the mother church had to finance her tuition fee. Funny enough, she still acted like a child, playing football with friends, or with her male peers climbing trees.

Career

In 1999, with the film Visa to Hell, Uche Jombo made her debut as an actress in Nigerian films. The glamorous and talented actress has grown successfully from an upcoming actress to a leading actress for 17 years, to a screenwriter and a film producer.

She has starred in over 60 movies as an actress. She appeared in hit movies such as Games Men Play, Girls in the Hood, A Time to Love, The Celebrity, among others, (she was also a co-writer).

Uche Jombo typically starred in some of her movies that were self-produced. Movies like Nollywood Hustlers, Damage, Holding Hope, Keep My Will, Kiss and Tell, Darkest Night, Lies Men Tell.

In all, Uche, courtesy of her production company, Uche Jombo Studios, has produced more than 14 films successfully. She has done over 20 screenplays as well.

The talented actress, who has a clear head for company, is assumed to be one of the richest Nollywood actresses, judging from the accomplishments of her productions.

Uche says that driving social change in society is the essence of making these movies with domestic and human-relationship themes. As such, films such as Damage have dealt with the ills of domestic abuse.

In 2012, along with other A-list stars, Rita Dominic, Funke Akindele, and Kate Henshaw, the versatile actress participated in the Ebony Life TV reality show, Screen Divas. Together, the four ladies starred in New Horizon, a short movie. Tope Oshin Ogun’s film was a piece that discussed oppression of women and domestic violence.

Uche Jombo Divorce

At a private beach wedding on the Island of Puerto Rico on May 16, 2012, Uche Jombo married her Puerto Rican husband, Kenny Rodriguez. The pair, together, have a son named Matthew Chinedu Rodriguez. Five years later (2017), her divorce news leaked. Reports say that Uche Jombo divorced her husband because both of them were unable to compromise on certain marriage-relevant issues.

Friends

Omoni Oboli, Chioma Akpotha, and Ufuoma Mcdermott are the actresses and Uche Jombo’s best friends. According to sources, the four ladies have been best friends for years, and it is clear that the four of them have an amazing friendship. There were reports in 2018, however, that there was a rift between Omoni Oboli and Uche Jombo as the former refused to attend the premiere of the film’ Wives on Strike ‘by Uche  shortly after the results

Uche is an actress from Nigeria who has practically made her way to the top. As a Nollywood character, she has accomplished commendable accomplishments. Among the awards she has received so far include the 2008 AfroNolly Group’s Best Actress in London, England; Haiti’s Humanitarian Award in New York, USA; the 2013 Africa International Film Festival as Best Leading Role Actress; and the 2015 Golden Icons Academy Movie Award as the year’s Female Viewers Pick.

In addition to her awards, as an ambassador of the New Nation project at the Dukwe headquarters in Port Harcourt in 2014, she signed a sponsorship contract alongside other actresses. In 2013, she also signed a multimillion-naira endorsement agreement with the telecom giant GLO.

Through her UJ Studios, the actress has produced jobs for professional and talented people with talented art inclinations.

A multi-million Naira endorsement contract with telecommunications giant Globacom was signed in 2013 by Uche Jombo, who is not only an actress but also a director and screenwriter. She has a net worth valued at N200 million.
