About ads in Marketplace – Although Facebook Marketplace is a great place to find and buy things, listing anything for sale isn’t the same as producing a paid ad that appears when people shop on the platform. When you make an ad for Marketplace, you will help your company attract more customers where they shop.
About ads in Marketplace
Here’s an example of what it means to put an ad on Marketplace:
To design and build your ad, you’ll use the Ads Manager app. Your ad budget will be determined by you.
Then you’ll choose where you want your ad to appear. We suggest that you select Automatic placements for your ad, which will enable it to appear on Marketplace, as well as all other compatible placements on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Audience Network if your settings allow it.
When people use the Facebook app on their phones to shop on Marketplace, they’ll see your ad. Customers interested in your company can visit your website, app, or view details in Marketplace by clicking on your ad, which appears alongside other related products and services.
A Sponsored logo will appear next to ads in Marketplace. Here’s an example of how a Marketplace ad could look:
Marketplace ads will appear in News Feed as well. It is currently not possible to have an ad appear only in Marketplace.
Create advertisements for Marketplace.
This feature is being rolled out in stages, so it may not be available right now.
You can have your Facebook ad show in Marketplace when you make it in Ads Manager to reach more people.
To make an ad for Marketplace, follow these steps:
As an ad goal, go to Ads Manager and choose Brand Awareness, Reach, Traffic, Video Views, Lead Generation, Event Responses, Messages, Conversions, Catalogue Sales, or Store Traffic. Then press the Continue button.
Select your travel destination.
Choose your target market and identify your audience.
Select either Automatic or Edit placements.
Automatic placements are recommended. If you prefer Edit placements, keep in mind the Marketplace isn’t available as standalone ad placement, so you’ll need to include News Feed in your ad campaign.
Make a budget and a schedule for yourself. When you’re done, click Next.
Select the innovative format for your ad.
The video and image specifications are the same as in News Feed. Keep in mind that in Marketplace, you can’t crop or upload specific creative for advertising.
When you’re done with your ad, click Done and then Place Order.
People will see your ad after we review and approve it when they search Marketplace on the Facebook app on their computer.

Facebook Marketplace: Unusual Business Applications
When Facebook Marketplace first launched in 2016, it was essentially a glorified yard sale.
Rather than buying and selling through Facebook groups formed by users, anyone could list a product on the Marketplace and communicate directly with potential customers in their region.
Facebook Marketplace has increased in popularity over the last few years, and it is now used by 800 million people in 70 countries every month.
That’s a massive yard sale! And impromptu Facebook groups aren’t nearly as commonplace.
There’s never been a better time for companies to join the platform, with so many individual buyers and sellers.
Selling the goods on Facebook Marketplace, on the other hand, is unlike any other distribution channel.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find another platform where people can discover your products as easily as Facebook, particularly because 66% of Facebook users interact with their accounts daily.
The Facebook Marketplace is a rapidly expanding group of qualified buyers eager to make a purchase. When you add in built-in interest targeting and simple product categorization, you’ve got a tool that’s made for boosting business sales.
So, what do you have to lose?
