Many small businesses are struggling at the moment, and as more stores close, more are turning to the internet to develop. Our goal is to make buying simple for everyone, from small business owners to major brands, by allowing them to communicate with customers through our apps. That’s why we’re introducing Facebook Shops and investing in features throughout our applications that encourage people to shop and make the process of buying and selling things online easier.
Introducing Facebook Shops
Businesses can quickly create a unified online store that customers can visit through Facebook and Instagram with Facebook Shops. It is entirely free and simple to set up a Facebook Shop. Businesses can showcase specific items from their catalog, then customize the appearance and feel of their shop with a cover photo and accent colors that reflect their brand. This implies that any business, regardless of size or budget, can go online and engage with clients whenever and wherever they want.
Facebook Shops can be found on a business’s Facebook Page or Instagram page, as well as in stories and adverts. You may then search the full selection, save things that interest you, and place an order – either on the company’s website or straight through the app, if the company allows checkout in the US.
You’ll be able to communicate a business via WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram Direct to ask questions, receive help, track deliveries, and more, just like you would in a real store. In the future, you’ll be able to explore a business’s store and make purchases immediately from a WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram Direct chat.
We’re launching Facebook Shops today, and we’ll be expanding it in the coming months.
We’re also investing in features across our applications, such as Instagram Shop, live shopping, and more, that will be linked with Facebook Shops to help users find and buy goods they’re interested in.
Facebook Instagram Shops: A New Place to Discover Products and Brands
Instagram Shop, a new way to discover and purchase goods you love on Instagram Explore, will launch in the United States this summer. @shop’s collections will inspire you, and you’ll be able to explore selections from your favorite brands and designers, filter by categories like beauty and home, and buy the styles you like all in one spot. We’ll also introduce a new shop tab to the navigation bar later this year, allowing you to visit Instagram Shop with a single tap.
Live Shopping Features – Facebook shops
People have been using live video to showcase products on our apps for years, from shoe merchants announcing new shoes to beauty influencers trying out new lipsticks. We’ve made the experience of shopping for things in real time much easier. Before going live, shops, brands, and artists will be able to tag things from their Facebook Shop or catalog, and those products will appear at the bottom of the video for easy access to more information and purchase. We’ve started testing this with businesses on Facebook and Instagram, and we’ll be rolling it out in the coming months.
Connecting Loyalty Programs to Your Facebook Account
In addition, we’re experimenting with methods to make it easier to receive rewards from brands you love by linking your loyalty services, such as your neighborhood cafe’s points program, to your Facebook account. You’ll have simple access to your points and awards, as well as the ability to track them. In addition, we’re looking into how we might help small companies develop, manage, and promote a loyalty program on Facebook Shops.
Working With Partners
In addition, to help small businesses, we’re working more closely with partners like Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, ChannelAdvisor, CedCommerce, Cafe24, Tienda Nube, and Feedonomics. These organizations provide entrepreneurs a wealth of information to help them start, run, and grow their internet businesses. They’ll now help small businesses build and grow their Facebook Shops, as well as use our other commerce tools.
We hope that these materials will help businesses of all sizes plan for the future and reduce some of the difficulties that small businesses are currently facing.
