Step-by-Step Guide to Setting up a Facebook Dating Profile
The steps to create a Facebook Dating profile are as follows:
- Ensure you are logged into your Facebook Account. Select the bookmarks tab by tapping the three vertical lines symbol in the upper right corner of the programme.
- Proceed with the setup process, choosing a photo, selecting your preferred gender, and deciding whether to share personal information with other Facebook Dating members.
- Facebook will recommend matches for you. Users may be matched by Facebook based on their groups, events they have attended, and hobbies, but only if they choose to participate in these matching processes.
- To initiate a discussion, you can either reply to one of the questions or photographs of the person you like, or you can touch “Not Interested”.
- Unlike Messenger, Facebook Dating has its own inbox. Unless they create a Facebook Dating profile themselves, Facebook users will not be able to view their friends’ Facebook Dating profiles.
In 2019, a brand-new Facebook Dating feature named Secret Crush was also revealed. Secret Crush aims to link users with people they already friend on Facebook, in contrast to Facebook Dating, however, this feature did not gain much popularity.
This feature allows users to add 9 pals to a list of their Secret Crushes, albeit it doesn’t seem to be available yet in most locations. When someone is added to a list, they will be notified. They will match if they add each other to their lists, and they will both receive notifications that they are on each other’s lists. Given that the majority of other dating apps can only match you with people outside of your close social circle, this is possibly Facebook Dating’s most innovative feature to come.

- Navigate to the Dating section of the Facebook menu.
- Press the icon located at the upper right corner of the screen.
- Select Delete Profile from the General section.
